||Description of Program
||Our programs include the following: 1 First Step Early Intervention helps children age birth to five develop to their fullest potential. The home program offers specialized services and therapies for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. Services are provided in the familys home. The classroom program serves children age three to five in classrooms in West Chester that specialize in serving medically fragile children who also typically have physical disabilities and children with autism. 2 Comprehensive Employment Services help people with disabilities become productive employees. The Arc provides hands-on training for job seekers, links businesses with qualified employees, and provides ongoing employment support. 3 Advocacy assures that people with disabilities are afforded their full rights and have access to the services they are entitled. Education advocacy supports parents navigating the special education system. One-on-one counseling and support as well as information and referral are components of this program. 4 Life Skills Training provides one-on-one support and training to youth and adults in basic living skills, such as cooking, shopping, budgeting, housekeeping, and managing medical appointments. Support is offered in the individuals home or in the community. 5 Recreation/Respite helps youth and adults with disabilities safely participate in the community while providing respite for parents and other caregivers. Programs range from weekly social events to field trips. Individualized in-home respite is also available. 6 Camp Safari & Teen Camp offer children and teens the opportunity to experience a wide range of outdoor activities and to participate in an integrated camp setting. 7 Housing Options Program provides permanent rental subsidies for homeless persons and families with disabilities. 8 Agency with Choice Program supports people with disabilities and their families in having service workers of their choice while The Arc manages the fiscal and human resources parts of the relationships. 9 Autism Training and Support offers assistance to individuals with autism, their families, and the community. This assistance includes strategy development to support behaviors in the home, community, school, and classroom through trainings, consultations, and support for families, teachers, caregivers, community groups, schools, and churches to educate and enhance their understanding of people of all ages with autism. 10 Transportation Program provides adults with disabilities with transportation to and from and day programs.
